Zaheer Abbas, dubbed the “Asian Bradman”, has advised the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to opt for local recruits for the vacant coaching positions for the national team. Abbas commented that former Pakistan cricketers are sincerer and reap better rewards than foreign coaches.

“Pakistan cricketers are highly patriotic people, who can pass their skills to the current players with utmost dedication. I think local coaches must be given the chance to serve for the country,” he said.
The race for the head coaching position seems to be among the likes of Misbah-ul-Haq, Dean Jones and Courtney Walsh with Abbas suggesting the former Pakistan skipper is the more suitable candidate to fill in Mickey Arthur’s role. Abbas also said the PCB needs to relieve Sarfaraz Ahmed of the burden of captaining in all three formats.
