A year after his contract expired as the head coach of the Indian women’s team, Ramesh Powar has returned in a coaching capacity for the India A side. Powar will be assuming charge as the bowling coach for India A for the upcoming visit of the South Africa A to the country.
Powar played in two Tests and 31 ODIs and will be the bowling coach for the five one-day games and two four-day matches. The 41-year-old is part of the several appointments made by the India A that have revamped their coaching staff.
Powar finished his stint with the Indian women’s team on bad terms after he had a much publicized fallout with Mithali Raj, who accused Powar of trying to destroy her international career.
