For the climax of the ongoing season of the Vitality Blast, Kent has signed the South African captain Faf du Plessis. The proficient batsman will now be available for the final two South Division matches against Gloucestershire and Essex.
With Kent needing only one victory to secure a knock-out stage berth, Faf’s signing makes a lot of sense. The Pretoria born has scored over 4900 T20 runs at 29.18 which speaks volume of the talent he carries in the shortest format of the game. Faf himself sits extremely excited as he is sanguine about augmenting Kent’s chances in England’s domestic T20 competition.
“I really look forward to joining up with Kent for the last part of the Vitality Blast. I will do my best to contribute to the already successful team and hopefully help them to lift a trophy. It is a great pleasure to join up with this squad as I have already played with some of the squad members,” said by 35-year old while sharing his excitement to play for Kent.
