After the conclusion of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 tournament, Bangladesh’s cricketing action is set to be resumed with a solitary Test match against a spirited Afghanistan side. The red-ball game which is set to commence from September 4 will be played at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chittagong.
Recently, Bangladesh’s Test skipper Shakib Al Hasan has shared his views on the longest format of the game as he revealed that his team is not taking Afghanistan lightly. Particularly mentioning the efficient spin department of Afghanistan, the veteran all-rounder added that Afghan unit is full of talented players who can turn the face of the game at any moment.
Shakib added that Bangladesh is keeping a winning mentality in mind and would look to give their best shot in the Test match. He refrained from commenting on the type of wicket expected as the 32-year old cricketer is open to play on any surface. Furthermore, Shakib is confident about Bangladesh producing a strong performance in their upcoming assignment.
