Pakistan Test opener, Shan Masood has defended his mediocre record in the red-ball format and has urged the selectors to give ample chances to players before evaluating their performance and deciding their fate in the game.
Shan agrees that he has not produced many substantial Test innings but believes he has not been given a consistent run in the national side.
“I only played 15 Test matches which are not enough. Due to not getting consistent chances, I have been failed to prove myself properly,” Masood said while talking to the media on the sidelines of the pre-season training camp at the National Cricket Academy, Lahore.
The 29-year-old believed that he would be able to exceed expectations in any role given to him by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). Shan praised the PCB for organizing the ongoing conditioning camp before the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy.
