Sri Lanka rebuffed Pakistan’s proposal of a Test series in Pakistan but agreed to tour Pakistan to play the limited-overs series comprising of three ODIs and as many T20s in September-October 2019.
This will be the first instance of a competitive cricket match happening in Pakistan since the final of Pakistan Super League (PSL) in Karachi and for things to move swiftly for an important Sri Lanka tour, the PCB is up to the task. To assess the security situation, a high-level meeting has been called by the PCB to formalize the arrangements for the series.
Wasim Khan will head the meeting which will focus on the security arrangements for the touring side, along with briefings from other concerned departments. According to sources, the touring side is expected to receive presidential-level security.
The Sri Lankan team is expected to arrive in Karachi on September 25 while the first ODI between the two sides will be played on September 27 at the National Stadium Karachi.
