Will Australia re-think their rotation policy?

Australian team management and coach Justin Langer decided prior to the Ashes 2019 that they will not play Mitchell Starc, Josh Hazlewood, and Pat Cummins in the same Test match in order to divide the workload on the 3 pacers.

Although the visiting team has done quite a good job in the Ashes so far, yet there are few discrepancies in Australian bowling ranks. With Starc sitting out, Australia is left with comparatively less wicket-taking options.

On the other hand, the left-arm pacer has a great ability to intimidate and outplay the oppositions which makes him a strong candidate for the selection in the squad for almost every match.

But with the rotation policy in effect, Australia’s 3 spearheads won’t get a chance to bowl together. Justin Langer might have to rethink about this decision advancing further through the Test Championship in order to add more strength to the side.

The lack of bowling options left Australia half-hearted when Ben Stokes was on the attack in the 3rd Ashes Test 2019 and that is where these three together could have made more difference.
