Peshawar Zalmi is one of the most loved franchises of the four-year short history of the Pakistan Super League (PSL). Be it on or off the field, the yellow army has always thrilled its fan base by taking fantastic initiatives.
This time, Peshawar Zalmi fetched heavy admiration as the franchise has partnered up with Gilgit-Baltistan Girls Football League running in Hunza.
The initiative has been taken to promote women empowerment, particularly in remote areas. It also aids the female community to get a platform to show their expertise in the sports arena.
Doing so, Zalmi has maintained its moto of promoting sports in the country. Owner of the franchise Javed Afridi expressed jubilation on having his franchise becoming a part of this tournament.
The 34-year old believes that such initiatives are needed to be taken at the national level to ameliorate the sports sector of the territory with a special focus on women. Moreover, he expressed his openness to contribute towards Pakistan’s sports sector and work on similar projects in the future.
