England’s playing XI which featured in the epic one-wicket win Headingley could possibly undergo a transformation following the return of normal fitness for the country’s leading wicket-taker James Anderson.
Anderson is thus expected to be named in the squad for the fourth Test at Old Trafford with the hosts having already squared the series in the previous Ashes encounter.
Anderson could not participate in the last two matches for England and could deliver only four overs in the first Test before he had to trudge off the field owing to a calf injury.
After that incident, Anderson has been busy in domestic cricket and recently completed 20 overs for Lancashire’s second XI indicating his longevity in the longest format. Anderson has said he feels he’s fully fit now to play his 150th Test at Old Trafford.
