The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has made it mandatory for top national cricketers to participate in domestic cricket and has thus refused to issue No Objection Certificates (NOCs) beyond September 10.
The top national players who are in contention for the team selection are required to play first-class and other domestic tournaments.
As a result of this, fast-bowler Wahab Riaz, who had earlier obtained NOC to participate in the Vitality T20 Blast and the Caribbean Premier League (CPL), has been turned down by the PCB. Similarly, all-rounder Faheem Ashraf’s application for NOC to play in the CPL has been rejected.
According to reports, several Pakistani players had requested the PCB to allow them to play the entire county season. However, PCB has denied their request as they want the players to return to Pakistan by early September and take part in the domestic matches.
