Despite remaining winless and glued to the bottom of the table in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 tournament in England and Wales, Afghanistan’s new skipper Rashid Khan believes that the experience will stand them in good stead.
It won’t be wrong to say that Afghanistan had their moments in the 50-over competition, but they failed to capitalize on the chances.
Afghan team, making only their second appearance in the 50-over tournament, looked good to upset India and Pakistan before their inexperience ruined the party.
Nevertheless, the 20-year old cricketer is confident regarding taking his team to the new heights of success. The upcoming Test match against Bangladesh provides Afghanistan an ideal chance of executing their plans and register a strong start for their upcoming cricket season.
“They were all tough games, but we learned a lot from the experience. We learned what it takes to be on the big stage in terms of preparations. We have areas of concern, but I’m sure we will improve when we play more games against the established countries,” said by the spin sensation of Afghanistan.
