Pakistan’s young fast bowler, Shaheen Shah Afridi has been ruled out of further participation in the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) ongoing pre-season training camp after being diagnosed with dengue fever. He is currently under treatment by specialists according to a press release by PCB.
Meanwhile, opening batsman Fakhar Zaman is yet to resume his training in the camp due to an injury in his right knee for which he underwent an MRI scan yesterday.
His scans will now be examined by the PCB Medical Advisory Panel, following which the decision on his participation in the camp will be made.
Pakistan's pre-season cricket camp started on August 20 at the National Cricket Academy. The camp is being organized by the PCB to enhance players' fitness and endurance ahead of the team's upcoming limited-overs series against Sri Lanka. The 17-day conditioning camp will run until September 7.
