England star fast-bowler, Jofra Archer's bowling injected fire into the second Ashes Test and has now livened up the enthralling series further by adding to his battle with Steve Smith off the field. The two have been engaging in a war of words for the last few days.
Archer has hit back at Smith after the latter passed a comment that the Barbadian is yet to get him out. A day before his comeback, Smith had downplayed Archer’s threat of unleashing a bouncer barrage.
“Well, I can’t get him out if he wasn’t there. I did want to bowl at him when he came back out [at Lord’s] but he was out before I even got to come back on. But there’ll be more than ample time to get him out,” Archer said.
Archer flattened Smith at Lord’s during a brutal spell and the blow forced the 30-year-old to miss last week’s historic one-wicket defeat at Headingley with a delayed concussion.
