Pakistan former batting great, Mohammad Yousuf has revealed that he was very close of being the new Pakistan U-19 batting coach before the PCB backed out of the deal. PCB has recently appointed former batsman, Ijaz Ahmed for the U-19 batting coach role.
Yousuf stated that he was promised by both PCB chairman Ehsan Mani and Director Academies Mudassar Nazar that they will appoint him soon but the board decided against it out of nowhere.
“I had told the PCB to assign me any batsman who has flaws, but the board dismissed by case. I am disappointed with the PCB's attitude. The things that the PCB has said about me in the media are contrary to the facts,” Yousuf said.
However, the 45-year-old said that he is ready to work with the PCB regardless of what happened between him and the board. Yousuf remains one of Pakistan’s most technically sound batsmen of all time with an average of 52.29 in Tests and 41.71 in ODIs during his playing career.
