Sri Lankan all-rounder Isuru Udana has been named as the international marquee player to replace England’s David Willey for Paarl Rocks in the upcoming season of the Mzansi Super League. Willey ruled himself out of the second season of the competition due to workload management.
“We are very excited to get a player of Isuru's calibre who was Sri Lanka's star player during their KFC T20 Series against the Standard Bank Proteas earlier this year,” Corrie van Zyl, the CSA Acting Director of Cricket said regarding his signing.
Udana was impressive during his team’s outing in South Africa earlier this year where he batted tremendously and outfoxed batsmen with his wide array of variations. He was also part of Sri Lanka’s World Cup squad, though his side failed to qualify for the semi-finals.
