After the conclusion of home series against New Zealand, Sri Lanka is scheduled to lock horns against Pakistan for three ODIs and as many T20Is. With this series announced to be played in Pakistan, the excitement level has reached a different height. The ODI games will be played in Karachi while Lahore has bagged the hosting rights of the T20I matches.
However, Sri Lanka has been jolted ahead of the white-ball contests as the unit lost the services of proficient all-rounder Thisara Perera. The 30-year old, who possess a good record against the boys in green, is set to participate in the complete edition of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) for St Lucia Zouks with the exception of first two matches for which a replacement will be found.
With this news, it is impossible for Perera to be able to perform national duty against the green team. Sri Lanka’s tour to Pakistan will conclude on October 9 while Zouks’ final game is scheduled on September 29, which makes the Colombo born unavailable for the ODI series. However, his participation in T20Is hasn’t been confirmed.
