Wicket-keeper batsman of South Africa Heinrich Klaasen is currently in India with South Africa A team for a five-game one-day series followed by two unofficial Tests. Like other players, the aggressive batsman is confident about recording impressive displays to make his way into the national team.
After playing ODI and T20I cricket for South Africa, the 28-year old batsman has set his sights on a Test spot for the upcoming three-game Test series against the men in blue. With retirements of players like Hashim Amla and AB de Villiers, Klaasen knows that there are spots in the middle-order to be grabbed and he is aiming to give his best in India A series.
“The retirements have opened up a few places in the middle order. There is a healthy competition, but I am not too worried. I will do the best I can in the one-dayers against India A and hopefully find a place in the Test team,” said by Klaasen as he opened up on his plans of playing Test cricket for South Africa.
