Ganguly delighted on Ashwin’s rumored move to Delhi Capitals

Veteran Indian spinner Ravichandran Ashwin’s move to Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Kings XI Punjab failed to change the fortunes of the team. Playing 28 IPL games for them, Ashwin recorded a modest performance by picking 25 wickets while adding 146 runs with the bat. There have been reports which claimed that Punjab’s unit is looking to trade their new skipper with Delhi Capitals.

The rumors have now reached Sourav Ganguly who currently serves as the advisor of Delhi Capitals. Former Indian captain believes that the inclusion of a cricketer like Ashwin will only increase Delhi’s strength. Speaking at a promotional event, the cricketer turned commentator hoped to hire the services of Ashwin.

After registering a series of disappointing performances, Delhi made it to the play-offs in the last season and Ganguly is aiming to build on good work by helping Delhi win the next season of India’s darling T20 competition. However, it remains to be seen if the two teams move close to finalize a deal.
