Engaging in a gripping battle in the third Test of the ongoing Ashes series, Australian team is now gearing up to win the forthcoming game and retain the coveted urn. However, there are areas of concern for Kangaroos which are needed to be dealt immediately.
Australian top-order batsman Usman Khawaja
One of the them is the unimpressive form of top-order batsman Usman Khawaja. With scores of 13, 40, 36, 2, 8 and 23, the skillful batsman has been unable to raise his bat even for a half-century. On the other hand, right-handed batsman Marnus Labuschagne’s impressive run is making his case strong for another chance.
All this hasn’t gone down well with former Australian captain Mark Taylor who raised voice to drop Usman from the 4th Ashes Test to welcome star batsman Steve Smith. The 54-year old has no doubts over the ability of Usman Khawaja, but believes that it is needed for the benefit of team. Coming to the openers, Taylor wants Australia to stick with Marcus Harris as he wants Australia not to panic by making too many changes.
