India’s promising wicket-keeper, Rishabh Pant became the fastest Indian keeper to claim 50 dismissals in Test cricket, surpassing former India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni.
The 21-year-old claimed his 50th victim in his 11th Test while Dhoni had taken 15 Tests to achieve a similar milestone. Pant finds himself level with former Australian wicket-keeper batsman Adam Gilchrist for the record. The Aussie southpaw took the same number of matches to complete 50 dismissals in Test cricket.
Meanwhile, Mark Boucher, Jos Buttler, and Tim Paine lead the chart having achieved the same in 10 Tests. While he is being rock solid behind the stumps, Pant had a mediocre series with the bat having scored just 58 runs at an average of 19.33 in three innings in the Test series in West Indies.
