Star Australian batsman, Steve Smith has reclaimed the No.1 Test ranking after dethroning Virat Kohli in the latest ICC rankings released on Tuesday after the completion of the second India-West Indies Test in Kingston.
Kohli's golden duck in India's second innings against the West Indies this week has caused him to slip to 903 ranking points, just one point behind Smith. Meanwhile. Smith who returned to Test cricket in the ongoing Ashes 2019 after serving a year-long ball-tampering ban, struck twin centuries in Edgbaston.
Smith was on the top spot his since December 2015. It was only in August 2018, when Smith was serving a ban for his role in the Newlands ball-tampering scandal that Kohli overtook him on the charts.
