After suffering a lot, Pakistan finally witnessed a resumption of International cricket in 2015 when Zimbabwe toured the country for a white-ball series. All this was followed by tours of Sri Lanka, West Indies and World XI to go with Pakistan Super League (PSL) games including some top names of the International cricket.

Despite five years of limited cricket action, top sides still remain unconvinced to visit Pakistan – an element that serves as a major hindrance in the full resumption of International cricket. Recently, former cricketer and one of the most celebrated figures of Pakistan cricket Zaheer Abbas shared his two cents on the subject as he urged the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to have major teams visit the country.
The 72-year old is of the opinion that for a regular scheduling of International cricket to happen, it is imperative for Pakistan to play against teams like Australia, New Zealand, South Africa and England at home. While he sees Sri Lanka’s tour of Pakistan as a welcoming sign, but advised the governing body of Pakistan cricket to focus on the bigger picture by inviting aforementioned teams.
