The Sri Lankan cricket team has not been able to settle ever since the departure of legendary players like Kumar Sangakkara, Mahela Jayawardene, and Tillakaratne Dilshan as players keep coming in and out of the side after every series.
The Islanders have lost the ongoing 3-match T20I series against New Zealand at home now after drawing the Test series last month. Skipper Lasith Malinga has said that results do not matter as long players especially the younger lot keep on learning the art of navigation through international cricket via freedom of expression.
“We want to give freedom to youngsters to play their natural game, they’re learning how to play T20s, and I want young players to show they’re made for international cricket. Losing doesn’t matter as long as the team shows character. Of course, we want to win the final game but also want to test our bench strength,” said. Malinga.
