Fresh after being appointed the head coach and chief selector of Pakistan, reports suggest that former skipper Misbah-ul-Haq could possibly be appointed as the new coach of two-time PSL winners Islamabad United as well.
If this development comes through smoothly, Misbah could replace Dean Jones of his former franchise whom he led to the coveted PSL title in the inaugural edition of the tournament. Jones was also one of the competitors for the head coach position of the Pakistan team against Misbah.
The 45-year-old played for Peshawar Zalmi in the last PSL season but will now be involved in the coaching capacity in the league rather than in the midst of the cricket action on the field. The exiting Pakistan coach Mickey Arthur also occupied dual roles as the national side and Karachi Kings head coach during his tenure.
