The introduction of the no-toss rule in Pakistan’s domestic cricket has been backed by several of the national side’s cricketers.
According to the new regulation, the captain of the visiting team can decide to bowl first after assessing the pitch conditions otherwise a normal coin toss will take place to determine what happens next.
Supporting the innovative idea designed to reduce the home advantage, captain Sarfaraz Ahmed said: "The home team formulates their squad according to their strengths so it's a good thing that the away team will have this advantage to choose.”
Meanwhile opener Fakhar Zaman also shared his views. “The PCB has implemented great rules this season. As a cricketer, every suggestion that we had thought of to give to the PCB, they took all those steps on their own which is great for Pakistan cricket,” he said.
