Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB)’s decision to appoint former skipper Misbah-ul-Haq as the head coach and chief selector has attracted a lot of debate. While one group sits satisfied to see a brain like Misbah into the setup, others are frustrated as they feel that the governing body of Pakistan cricket has made an unwise decision.
Belonging to the latter group, ex Pakistani spinner Abdul Qadir revealed his displeasure on having Misbah playing a dual role.
The 63-year old is of the opinion that PCB set up the stage for their favorite candidate. In addition to that, the Lahore born believes that the idea of having one man performing both the head coach and chief selector’s duties is dangerous as it can easily generate and facilitate personal liking and disliking.
“It was clear. I am not surprised at all. The board had already planned to appoint Misbah as head coach as well as chief selector. The stage was set only for Misbah’s appointment and everyone was aware of the committee’s decision,” said by Qadir as he expressed his anger.
