Indian batsman Ambati Rayudu recently made a surprise comeback to cricket after hanging the boots up in frustration back in July due to his omission from the Indian squad for ICC Cricket World Cup 2019.
The right-hander has said that he was talked out of retirement from a couple of senior mentors including VVS Laxman as they made him realize that there is still a lot that he could offer to the game.
“I felt why should I give up on something that I have worked for 20-odd years to reach where I am. So obviously I thought it over and thought that maybe it’s a bit selfish on my part to just move on without giving anything back to the game while I still can play. I am still fit and can still play, so I think maybe it was a little hasty,” he said.
