The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has decided to use the Kookaburra balls in domestic cricket as opposed to the previous practice of Duke balls. This step has been taken in order to bring the domestic experience close to the international experience as all the cricket played at the highest level uses Kookaburra balls.
Skipper Sarfraz Ahmed believes that the use of Kookaburra balls is a good step which would only benefit Pakistan cricket as it would not only help the Test players during preparations, but it would also benefit upcoming cricketers who want to play at the international level.
Senior middle-order batsman Azhar Ali has said that the use of Kookaburra balls would help the batsmen in spending time at the crease while it would also make bowlers toil hard for wickets which has not been the case in recent times due to the Duke balls and bowling friendly pitches.
Fast bowler Mohammad Amir also agreed with his teammates as he said that the change of policy was inevitable in domestic cricket and the use of international standard cricket balls would help players in being used to of the international playing conditions even before doing so.
