The upcoming series between Pakistan and Sri Lanka would not feature some of the big names in the visiting side as the likes of Lasith Malinga, Thisara Perera, Niroshan Dickwella, and a couple of others have refused to visit Pakistan.

The Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) gave full freedom to the players to decide on their participation in the tour after giving a thorough briefing to all the players. The SLC has taken a serious step to discourage such behavior in the future as a couple of players also wanted to make use of their lucrative Caribbean Premier League (CPL) contracts.
Furthermore, the board has not granted No Objections Certificate (NOC) to Dickwella as he wanted to participate in the CPL during the time his national side toured Pakistan. The decision has been taken in order to keep the players in camp during the time the national team participates in a tour which they were selected for initially.
