After the appointment of former skippers Misbah-ul-Haq and Waqar Younis as the head coach and bowling coach, people are very much interested to view the decision regarding Pakistan’s skipper.
Wicket-keeper Sarfaraz Ahmed who led Pakistan previously in all the three formats failed to deliver in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 tournament which ignited the debate about captaincy. While few want the Sarfaraz to continue, others have no plan to see more of him as Pakistan’s leader.
Recently, former Pakistan cricketer Ramiz Raja moved to share his two cents on the subject as he believes that Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) should now look to plan for future and appoint a new leader accordingly.
However, the cricketer turned commentator added that Sarfaraz should continue to lead in T20Is as he’s been able to perform really well and it would be unwise to remove him with T20 World Cup not being far away. While all-rounder Imad Wasim and Babar Azam emerged as top candidates for this position, PCB is yet to make things official.
