The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is focused on ensuring top-quality pitches in the upcoming domestic season in a bid to increase competitiveness among the six provincial sides. The event contest between bat and ball aimed by the PCB will produce better players in the long-run instead of one-trick ponies.
The PCB began preparations of pitches for the domestic season since last year with a focus on the main events including the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy, National T20 Cup and the Pakistan Cup.
“Since hot weather remains prevalent in the country for 10 months we prepare grounds with grass that can sustain the hot weather. The ideal time for relaying the pitches is between mid-April to end of May each year,” chief curator Agha Zahid said.
“The 2019-20 domestic season is to be played on home and away basis and keeping that in mind we arranged refresher courses for curators at various venues across the country," he added.
