The England cricket team has not been able to challenge the Aussie bowling during the ongoing Ashes series as the visitors have annihilated the former on their home soil with some smart cricket. Skipper Joe Root has been trying really hard to lift the morale of the team with his batting but the lack of support from others has mostly wasted his efforts in the series. Now, many have started to believe that Root’s personal performance is being affected by the burden of leading the national side.
Former English leggie Graeme Swann has said that he would rather watch Joe Root score hundreds for the team in Test cricket like he used to than seeing him under constant pressure of leading the side.
Swann believes that the management must address the issue as soon as possible since Root has already lost on a lot just because of the Test captaincy.
