Match Tied (Royal Challengers Bangalore win one-over eliminator)
Indian skipper Virat Kohli shared a nostalgic picture with MS Dhoni and it caused an avalanche of rumours on social media suggesting that MS Dhoni has decided to retire from the game of cricket.
However, later that day chief selector MSK Prasad denied the news.
“I don’t know from where these rumours started. I don’t think they are true,” the Chairman of Selectors said in a press conference. Dhoni’s future has been a subject of intense speculation ever since he announced a sabbatical from the game after the World Cup in June-July.
After missing the tour of West Indies, Dhoni won’t be taking part in the T20I series against South Africa as he wasn’t included in the 15-man squad announced last month. Later, Prasad clarified that Dhoni had made himself unavailable for the series and wasn’t dropped.
Later that day, Dhoni’s wife Sakshi squashed the social media rumours with a simple message and her Twitter post read:?“Its called rumours!”
