Match Tied (Royal Challengers Bangalore win one-over eliminator)
Former Australian skipper Steve Smith is currently in the form of his life as he has been bashing the English bowlers in the ongoing Ashes in England. With more than 750 runs in the series so far, Smith has reclaimed his top position in the Test batsmen rankings as well.
The unorthodox batsman has gathered praise from all around the world especially from his countrymen who have been calling him a modern day great. Former wicket-keeper batsman Adam Gilchrist has said that Smith is going to change the batting textbooks with his awkward yet effective style of batting.
“He tried to change his technique, but later decided to stay true to his game. To stick to your guns when all the cricketing greats, coaches and textbooks say you are wrong – that takes real courage. And now everyone is watching him bat in amazement and trying to learn from him. The textbooks on batting technique may need to be rewritten,” said Gilchrist.
