Australian opening batsman David Warner has had a terrible run in the Ashes this year as he has proved to be an easy wicket for Stuart Broad in almost all innings. After having a decent World Cup recently, Warner failed to translate that form in the longer format.
The left-hander was quite unlucky in the first innings of The Oval Test as he was given out after a controversial review from England. The on-field umpire gave Warner not out when he missed one of the deliveries from Jofra Archer during his initial spell, but the decision was eventually overturned when the snickometer showed a spike when the ball was passing the bat.
However, replays also showed that there was clear day light between the bat and the ball as the shadow of both was clearly visible on the ground. Warner did not seem quite happy with the controversial call while Steve Smith later revealed that he did not agree with that call as well.
