Pakistan captain Sarfaraz Ahmed has encouraged Sri Lankan team to visit Pakistan, for the limited-overs series later this month despite doubts looming over the scheduled series. The Sri Lanka tour to Pakistan had another twist when the Sri Lanka PM Office received information of a possible terrorist attack on their team while touring Pakistan.
“I request Sri Lankan team to visit Pakistan,” said Sarfaraz while talking to media in Karachi ahead of the 2019-20 domestic season. “The security situation in the country is also considerably improved. I hope that the Sri Lankan team tours Pakistan as per schedule.”
Sarfaraz added the International Cricket Council (ICC) and other national boards should come forward and support Pakistan more in its bid to revive international cricket. He also stated how quickly Pakistan supported Sri Lanka after the Easter Sunday bombings thereby sending a junior team to tour.
