The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Ehsan Mani has said they are awaiting a final confirmation from Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) regarding their forthcoming tour to Pakistan. Sri Lanka are scheduled to play three ODIs and three T20Is in Lahore and Karachi later this month but the tour was put into doubt after Sri Lanka’s PM Office received information of a possible terror threat targeting their team.
“I want to make it clear that we are in contact with the Sri Lankan board and we haven’t heard anything negative. They are just waiting for a final call from their government and I hope things will go in our favor,” Mani said.
Mani’s statement is a breath of fresh air for Pakistan fans who will be hoping for the Sri Lankan team to light up the deserted stadiums with international cricket. The series will mark Pakistan’s first assignment following the conclusion of the World Cup.
