Veteran Pakistan middle-order batsman Fawad Alam remains one of the unluckiest cricketers from his country as despite piling on a mountain of runs in the domestic circuit, he has never been able to find a consistent run in the national side.
Fawad scored a tremendous 168 on his debut in Test cricket but could make only three appearances in the format before he was unfairly dropped. With a fantastic average of 56.08 in first-class cricket and still not being able to come in the good books of the selectors, one would expect Fawad to be disheartened by the whole scenario.
But the 33-year-old southpaw is high in spirits and said he will be remembered for his astonishing domestic performances even if he failed to play international cricket regularly.
“I always believe in giving performances & have strong faith that there comes a time when Allah does acknowledge your patience and hard work. Even if I'm not selected in the national team but whenever domestic cricket is discussed, people do remember me and that provides me motivation,” Fawad said.
