Sindh’s opening batsman Abid Ali struck an unbeaten 249 in the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy clash against Balochistan on the second day of the first-class fixture. The sublime double ton is Abid’s career-best score and puts Sindh in the driving seat in the opening round match.
The right-handed batsman slapped 26 fours during his enduring stay at the crease as he lasted a total of 712 minutes out in the middle. The dominant display of batting was a perfect exemplar of nifty footwork and tremendous hand-eye coordination.
Abid’s mammoth innings further strengthens his case for selection in the national side and provided Sindh an added tally of bonus points under the new system introduced in Pakistan’s domestic circuit. The 31-year-old made his international debut against Australia earlier this year where he struck a stunning century in the one-day international.
