Pakistan’s premier first-class competition Quaid-e-Azam Trophy has introduced the concept of Kookaburra balls replacing the Duke balls. This has been done to align Pakistan’s domestic circuit with the international arena whereby most of the fixtures are conducted with Kookaburra balls.
Praising this new regulation, veteran cricketer Shoaib Malik has said the use of Kookaburra balls will enhance the performances of bowlers as they will generate high speeds and keep consistent lines and lengths.
Malik elaborated on the importance of the new cricket balls which will expand the skillset of pacers and spinners while helping batsmen focus on their timing and finding the gaps more efficiently. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has also paid attention to improving the quality of pitches for more even contests between bat and ball.
