Pakistan’s First-Class tournament, Quaid-e-Azam trophy has commenced in the major cities of the country. The tournament with revamped structure, has come under the scrutiny earlier in the peace. The batting friendly wickets of QEA (Quaid-e-Azam) trophy has caught the critical eye of the veterans.
The ongoing matches are pretty much high-scoring games with the batsmen dominating the bowlers. 1466 runs were scored in the 1st innings of the first 3 matches of the QEA trophy with the loss of 24 wickets. Two double centuries have also been scored in the tournament so far.
There has not been a lot of pace in the wickets for the fast bowlers. This has raised a question that whether these wickets will prepare the already orphan Pakistan’s pace battery for the ICC Test Championship. There are not a lot of incentives for the pace bowlers to take from the freshly-prepared pitches and neither the batsmen have to face a lot of problems while playing against the seam bowlers.
The wickets will worn-out with as the event progresses on, making them more favorable for the spin bowlers. On the other hand, fast bowlers are still at a disadvantage on these batting friendly wickets.
