Sri Lanka’s tour of Pakistan has faced a lot of hurdles and still things aren’t clear as their cricket board is reassessing the security conditions in Pakistan after being given a warning from Prime Minister’s Office. Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), however, sits confident about hosting the 6 International games against Islanders.
Meanwhile, Pakistan has received a boost as the stand-in Sri Lankan captain Lahiru Thirimanne has expressed his satisfaction towards country’s security. The top-order batsman revealed that the Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) presented the security plan to all the cricketers, which he shared with his family as well.
Thirimanne added that, being pleased with the security conditions, his focus lies on cricket as the 30-year old cricketer wants to shine both as a player and as a captain. While the Moratuwa born understands that his team’s strength will be challenged in the absence of seasoned campaigners, he is still sanguine about doing well in the ODI series set to commence from September 27 in Karachi.
