The Quaid-e-Azam Trophy (QAT) 2019-20 has started in different cities of Pakistan as 6 Cricket Associations are competing for the title this time as opposed to the previous practice of multiple departments. Chief-selector and head coach, Misbah-ul-Haq has been overseeing the proceedings during the games as he intends to select the most in-form players for the upcoming Test series against Sri Lanka.
Former Pakistan captain Rashid Latif has revealed that the increment in the match fee of players for the QAT is a result of the efforts of Misbah who convinced the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to give incentive to players for competing in first-class cricket.
The veteran wicket-keeper batsman said that players would now get up to 75,000 PKR for every first-class match which used to be quite low in the past while he clarified that the 50,000 PKR is the monthly salary which first-class players would receive separately.
