Pakistani middle-order batsman Umar Akmal has been away from the national side for a good few months after making a comeback to the national side during this year’s limited overs series against Australia in the UAE.
Umar has faced disciplinary action multiple times in his career which is the reason why he was eventually expelled from the side by former head coach Mickey Arthur. The right-hander has been included in the 20 probable players for the upcoming series against Sri Lanka after his brilliant start to the 2019-20 domestic season.
The 29-year-old has said that he is ready to make amends and play for the national side again as he is willing to play at any position for the Pakistan side.
“I am ready to bat at any number where my team management wants me to. The confidence is restored after the first match of the Quaid-e-Azam trophy. I am in a good form and rhythm right now,” he said.
