Pakistan’s medium-fast bowler Mohammad Abbas has returned to the list of top 10 bowlers in the latest update of the Test rankings released by the International Cricket Council (ICC). Abbas reached the No. 3 spot last year but was subsequently demoted down the rankings due to lack of memorable performances in the South Africa tour.
He is now back in the top 10, as he occupies the tenth position with 770 rating points. Abbas is ahead of India’s 11th-placed Ravindra Jadeja by six points while he trails the veteran West Indies’ paceman Kemar Roach by 10 points.
Abbas shot to prominence in Pakistan’s Test setup with his bowling heroics against Australia in the UAE, where he was adjudged man of the series. Later, the selectors experimented him in white-ball cricket – a plan which backfired.
