Haider Ali, the 18-year old, who represented Pakistan at Under-19 level recently, made his debut in the Quaid-e-Azam trophy for team Northern (Pakistan). The youngster impressed a lot in the 1st innings of the match as he scored 99 on his First-Class debut.
Unfortunately, he missed out on a well-deserved century by just 1 run. Hailing from Attock, Ali was named “Man of the series” against South Africa in the 7-match ODI series in July 2019. He scored 317 runs in that series including 1 century and 2 half-centuries.
The right-handed batsman looks a promising prospect for the future, QAE trophy is a great platform for him to learn different skills and gain experience from the senior players. Pakistan will look to invest on him, if he continues good work for his team in the ongoing Quaid-e Azam trophy.
