St Kitts and Nevis Patriots returned to the winning ways in the running season of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) with a thumping performance against St Lucia Zouks. Winning the game by an emphatic margin of 6 wickets with 31 balls to spare, Patriots installed themselves in a reasonable position claiming 2 crucial points.
While the talk was centered around Akeem Jordan’s 4-wicket haul and Evin Lewis’ sparkling half-century, it would be harsh to ignore the valiant contribution of the spin wizard Usama Mir who delivered a spectacular bowling outing. After losing early wickets, Zouks were trying to sneak back into the game in the middle phase. However, Usama’s prowess didn’t let that happen.
In his quota of 4 overs, the 23-year old leggie managed to pick crucial scalps of Roland Cato and Colin de Grandhomme which allowed Patriots to dictate terms. Moreover, Usama only conceded 13 runs including a maiden. This helped Patriots to restrict Zouks to 138, which was later gunned down like a walk in the park.
