Indian cricket has found itself embroiled in another controversy related to corruption after several players in the Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL) admitted they had been approached by some unknown people to indulge in fixing-related activities.
The serious allegations have put a doubt over the future of TNPL as bookies have made attempts to infiltrate the league. A franchise has also fallen under the scanner for suspicious selections of its playing XI in various games indicating they might have been influenced by bookies.
The negative developments mean that the case is now being taken by the Board of Control for Cricket in India’s (BCCI) Anti-Corruption Unit, who have launched a probe into the matter. The regional cricket board has also constituted a panel to further look into the controversy.
