South Africa were outclassed by a stunning display of supreme batsmanship from Indian skipper Virat Kohli as the visitors were defeated by 7 wickets in the second T20 at Mohali. All the bowlers suffered the wrath of the dominant performance from the 30-year-old with the pace duo of Kagiso Rabada and Anrich Nortje failing to contain his attack.
Both Rabada and Nortje are capable of generating steep pace and consistently bowling in excess of 90mph, but their threat was nullified by Kohli’s tremendous knock. Addressing how the result panned out, veteran South African pace bowler Dale Steyn claimed the likes of Rabada and Nortje needed to learn to use their pace wisely.
Taking to Twitter to express his disappointment on the matter, Steyn implied the bowlers needed to use variations in order to bamboozle batsmen instead of delivering the ball in the same channel. He nevertheless backed his team to put on a strong show in the final T20I.
