Sialkot born leg-spinner Usama Mir’s stint in this year’s edition of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) has come to an end as he is now heading back to his country. Usama was representing the St Kitts and Nevis Patriots, who are currently placed at No. 3 in the points table.
The 23-year-old did not have an immensely productive outing with the Patriots as he could claim only 3 wickets in 5 games in the tournament but still kept things tight from one end. Taking to Twitter, he expressed gratitude to the Patriots management for persisting with him this season and wished his team good luck for the rest of the competition.
Usama will now be shifting his focus to red-ball cricket, as he is part of the Northern Second XI squad in the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy. He will be looking forward to improving his ordinary statistics of a bowling average of 42.7 in first-class cricket.
